Virginia Tech Bacilifol Trials—2022 Vegetable and Strawberry Field Day

On June 28, AgroShield participated in the 2022 Vegetable and Strawberry Field Day at Virginia Tech’s Eastern Shore Agricultural Research and Extension Center. The field day, located in Painter, VA, brought together researchers, growers, students, and industry participants with the common goal of “cultivating ideas and sharing the latest technology related to tomato and strawberry cultivation.”

For AgroShield, the field day was an opportunity to showcase Bacilifol TM, the company’s proprietary and all-natural bacillus amyloliquefaciens product, which is designed to improve disease resistance, yield, and overall plant health.

AgroShield is currently partnering with Virginia Tech to conduct trials on tomato plants applied with Bacilifol, both as a drip irrigation additive and foliar spray, in elevated planters and high tunnels. After the first 30 days of observation, the plants treated with Bacilifol exhibited more height, greater biomass, and earlier flowering than the control group. It is anticipated that the plants applied with Bacilifol will continue to demonstrate exceptional results as the trial continues through the summer.
